About Gina
Gina is a graduate in Fine Art from the Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork.
Following graduation she worked briefly in the printing industry in Dublin and spent some years working as a Background Artist in Film Animation.
More recently Gina has run her own Art Gallery, Southshore Arts, in Dalkey, Co. Dublin where in addition to displaying her own work she showed the work of many talented Irish Artists, Photographers, Ceramicists and Jewellers. She presently works from her own home studio in the beautiful seaside town of Greystones, Co. Wicklow where her creative ideas come to life. Visitors are always welcome.
Gina is a lover of water and the sea, having spent her formative years – much like her artistic and creative heroes, the brothers WB and Jack Yeats – growing up by the creatively inspiring Co. Sligo coastline. Just to be present by its shores has been an endless source of inspiration for many.
Gina has had a number of solo shows and has exhibited in many group shows over the years including at the annual RHA and RUA shows in Dublin and Belfast. Her work may currently be seen at the Boat Yard Gallery, Greystones and at the People's Park, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin every Sunday.
Although primarily a painter, over the past number of years Gina has developed a passionate interest in the use of digital art as a creative new medium to work with. She marries her love of photography with both digital and ‘real’ paint brushes to produce works that are colourful and vibrant.
